OUR VISION

Colorado has comprehensive, aligned, effective, and fully-funded service delivery systems that support families to ensure all Colorado children are valued, healthy and thriving.

The family is at the center with relationships of caregiver, teacher and other professionals next. Environments is the next layer that includes the home, neighborhood, program and school. Finally the local and state systems is last.

Early Childhood Leadership Commission roles:

Statewide leader

  • Promotes a shared vision for early childhood in Colorado

  • Sets the strategic direction for early childhood services and governance

  • Serves as a trusted advisory body to all stakeholders and sectors

  • Embodies a fully aligned system of supports

Subject matter expert

  • Represents the full spectrum of early childhood stakeholders and supporters

  • Develops innovative tools, approaches and resources

  • Provides systems-level thinking and oversight

  • Holds constituents accountable and tracks progress against defined outcome metrics

Communicator and connector

  • Partners with key statewide entities in all sectors – public, nonprofit and private

  • Serves as a credible, vocal advocate in support of early childhood in Colorado

  • Coordinates the state’s interagency work and connects with community efforts

  • Builds public will, awareness and community support for early childhood
